It is suitable to just pull the wheel to rotate. For new bearings, the tension should be 70-90 N. When adjusting the tightness of the steering wheel wheel bearing, you must first tighten the adjusting nut and test it with a pulling force of 200-300 N. Loosen the adjusting nut until the wheel can be turned with a force of 10-25 N; some manufacturers stipulate that after tightening the adjusting nut with a certain torque, loosen the nut a certain number of turns, and then check Its axial clearance or the force required to pull it to start its rotation can be adjusted as necessary. For Mercedes cars, it is required to tighten the adjusting nut with a torque of 300 Nm, then loosen the nut 1/8 turn, install a thrust washer, tighten the lock nut with a torque of 500-550 Nm. This gap should be in the range of 0.03-0.05 mm. If the gap does not meet the requirements, it should be adjusted again until the gap is appropriate.

The tightening torque and the number of turns to loosen are also different. For example, in the Red Rock 261, when adjusting the steering wheel bearing tightness, first tighten the adjustment nut with a torque of 500 Nm, then loosen the nut by 1/4 turn, and then tighten the adjustment nut with a torque of 100 Nm, then Loosen back 1/8 turn, then install the lock ring and tighten the lock bolt of the lock ring with a torque of 25 Nm.
